Executive Board Officers Roles & Responsibilities

       PRESIDENT (Chandra Southern): Coordinates volunteer efforts; serves as primary link between PTSA and the principal; conducts monthly Executive Board Meetings and General PTSA Meetings; Represents Cooper at Local and State PTA meetings, coordinates materials, volunteers and works on any issues of importance to the school.
·        VICE PRESIDENT (Mavis Jones): Assists the President at all events; participates in all Executive Board and General PTA Meetings learns the specifics of Cooper Middle School PTSA budgeting and other related needs.
·        SECRETARY (Amber Stokes): Attends PTSA Board meetings and takes minutes for Board approval. The Secretary also maintains the school database to keep member records up to date. 
·        TREASURER (Rosalind Turner): Handles the accounting of the PTSA funds and the annual PTSA Budget; files tax returns.
·        All above officers are members of the PTSA Executive Board.
·        PARLIAMENTARIAN: (Vacant) Assists the Executive Board with any items that come up for a vote.
In the fall, the PTSA Executive Board forms a nominating committee which fills PTSA committee positions for the following school year. At this time, parents can nominate themselves for a specific job or a general interest to help support the PTSA’s activities. Positions are available for all who are interested, and we welcome your involvement.
