What is PTSA?
PTSA is comprised of parents,
teachers, students and other adults that are devoted to the educational success
of children and promoting parental involvement in schools. PTSA is a powerful voice for all children, a
relevant resource for families and communities, and a strong advocate for the
education and well-being of EVERY child.
We partner with the school and community. Cooper Middle School PTSA is honored and proud
to be part of such a great organization!
Why
Join PTSA?
· The
number one reason to join the Parent Teacher Student Association is to benefit
your child. In doing so, you also help your school. But there are many more
advantages. Here are just a few:
· Get
Connected. There’s no better way to know what’s happening in
your school.
· Discover
Great Resources. The PTSA offers a variety of programs designed for
parents as well as students.
· Tap
into a Network. Parenting is not easy—it helps to share ideas, concerns
and experiences with other parents and educators in the community. PTSA
functions are opportunities to meet other parents and teachers, building
rapport and discussing issues that are on your mind.
· Watch
Yourself Grow. By volunteering with your PTSA, you gain valuable experiences.
It’s an opportunity to put your skills and hobbies to good use for a good
cause—your child and all children in the community.
· Speak
Up. Because the PTSA is a forum for exchanging ideas,
you are encouraged to make suggestions. PTSA can be a way for you to more
effectively suggest change at your child’s school.
· Witness
Improvement. By getting involved at your child’s school you’ll be
part of the solution, helping make positive changes. Local PTSAs play an
important role in fundraising to provide building improvements,
curriculum-based programs, and social events—all vital to a school’s success.
· Be
a Role Model. By becoming a PTSA member, you’ll be demonstrating
to your child the importance you place on education.
· Enjoy
Benefits. You receive discounts from our community partner’s nationwide.
· Volunteer your time. Any time you can give makes a difference whether
it’s an hour a month or an hour a day every little bit counts. Sometimes you can even do all of your
volunteer work from the comforts of your home.
If every family volunteers just 3 hours per school year, there is
nothing we cannot accomplish.
I Don’t Have Time To Volunteer,
Should I Still Join?
· Joining
the Cooper MS PTSA will not commit you to long hours of volunteering.
Joining PTA is simply a statement that you support what the PTSA does here at Cooper on behalf of the students.

look forward to working with everyone.
