Message From Dr. Watkins, Week of December 8
Saturday Grace Day is Coming
Parents are reminded about the Saturday Grace Day on Saturday, December 13, for students to come to school between 8:30 and 9:00 AM to complete class assignments in which they received a zero. In order for students to attend, parents must sign up their student by visiting the Cooper website at www.cobb12.org/cooper. Parents are also required to come into the school to sign in and to sign out their student when they have completed their assignments.Jazz Band Concert
The Cooper Jazz bands will perform on Tuesday evening at 7:00 PM.Important Meetings
The School Site Council will meet this Thursday at 8:00 AM and the Foundation will meet Friday at 8:00 AM.Parent Volunteers Needed

Homework Assignments
Please check to make sure that your student is completing their homework nightly. Homework assignments should be written in the agenda book. You can verify the assignments by checking the teachers' blogs. The link is on the Cooper website www.cobbk12.org/cooper.School Council Meeting

Our 8th graders will be visiting Emory University this Wednesday and Thursday.
Testing for 7th Graders

District Parent Engagement Meeting
There will be a District Title I parent engagement meeting on Saturday, Sept. 13, from 8:30-12:00 at Sky view Learning Center. Please RSVP to Dr. Yvonne Anderson.Back to School Dance
Don't forget about our Back to School Dance this Thursday form 4:30-6:00 for $3 before Thursday and $4 on Thursday. A signed permission slip is also required. Parents are asked to donate cans of soda and individual bags of chips as well as serve as chaperones.School Council Parent Needed

Parent Vue Codes Available
Beginning this Tuesday, August 26th and every evening from 8:00- 6:30 PM until September 10, you may pick up your Parent Vue codes to check your student's grades. Please bring your ID. You will also be able to get them on Thursday, September 11, from 7-9 PM at Open House.School Council Nominations

All 7th and 8th grade males interested in becoming a part of The Distinguished Men of Cooper -our new young men's leadership program, please plan to attend an informational meeting this Monday or next Monday at 8:30 AM in the health room. Dress Down Day for Returned Parent Surveys
All students who returned the parent surveys by Friday may dress down tomorrow. Dress down stickers will be given to students by homeroom teachers.Cooper Band Large Group Performance Evaluation at Kell High School
The 5th and 7the period band students have their LGPE tomorrow and 4th period band students have LGPE on Thursday. These students will need to wear the proper uniform in order to attend the performance. Both groups will be performing at Kell High School and will return to Cooper after their performances. Students will be given a parent survey on Monday and all students who return it by Friday will receive a dress down pass to be used only on Monday, March 24.

Spring Pictures
Spring pictures will be taken this Thursdsay. Students may bring a change of clothing if they are paying for pictures.
Report Cards Coming
All students will receive report cards this Wednesday. Parents are asked to contact their student's teachers via email with any questions.

School Council Meeting
The School Council will meet on Tuesday, January 14th at 8:00 AM in the front office conference room. We will have our Student of the Month celebration this Thursday at 8:00 AM in the Media Center.Chat -n- Chew With Dr. Watkins
All parents are encouraged to attend this month's Chat and Chew this Thursday, January 16th from 6:30 to 7:30 PM in MM1. The PTSA has invited several local and state officials to hear about our STEM Program and plans for an outdoor science classroom. After the session, questions may be asked of the officials.ASP On Hold
The After School Program (ASP) is being halted temporarily and will resume as Saturday School when we get closer to the CRCT. Information will be sent to parents at a later date.
