Cooper Career Day March 18
Career Day is an important day of learning for our students because it allows them learn about real world careers. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics December 2013 statistics, there were nearly 4 million people who have been out of work for 27 weeks (1 year and a week) or more. That is an astounding statistic considering at the end of November 2013 there were 4 million jobs open. What Does That Mean?Slow economic growth and a skills mismatch in the job market. Some career fields especially STEM based careers are facing shortages of qualified workers. If future graduates are not prepared for the high growth and well paying careers of the future, they do can face extended period of career uncertainty.
The purpose of Cooper Career Day is to expose our students to a wide variety of career opportunities early in their education so they prepare for the future.
