Two Big Finishes....Headed to the Next Round

Cooper Middle School's Reading Bowl Team led by coaches Leni Gochman and Kimberly Smith have won 2nd place in Cobb County Helen Ruffin Reading Bowl(January) and the University of West Georgia Regional competition (February 2). The Cobb County competition where Cooper competed against 16 other middle schools was Cooper’s first academic trophy. The team is now headed for the Divisional Round on February 23rd.

To prepare for competition, the team had to read 20 books from the Georgia Children's Book Awards nominees list. Then in a game format against other teams, their knowledge of these books was tested.
